On March 15th, 2026 the Speed Skating Finale was held at the Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary. I was fortunate enough to be included with a small number of Photographers to be accredited to Photograph this final event of the season. It was also the final ceremonial lap for multi Olympic medalist Ted Bloemen. He is the former record holder in the in the 5,000m and Olympic 10,000m. It should be noted that He completed his final lap in hockey skates and a clockwise direction.
